Nationally published interior designer Shelly Engel joined the Canterbury Cottage Interiors team in 2018 bringing over 30 plus years of experience……”I am comfortable working with both clients, builders and architects”.

Examples of working with clients include:
Space planning
Incorporating existing items with new
Working with monotone colors
Working with color
Style identification
Designing custom casework
Custom designed children’s art for casework fronts or wall art
Resourcing items to complete a project
Placement of art and accessories
The ability to use monotones with textures or working with colors comes naturally and I enjoy making it right for my clients.  I likes to “think outside the box” so it directs you to look about the room and not have everything be expected in the setting.  “There should always be something that could cause conversation in a room”.  I believe that completing a home is a journey of finding just the right items.  It may be sought after antiques or objects from nature that help to put the final touches to the spaces. My focus is on making her projects unique to each other.

“Adapting to client’s personality, lifestyle and making settings unique with individual taste is my goal”

I have worked on numerous residential and corporate projects along the shores of Michigan, Illinois and the Carolinas.
